Deliberations – part 1 – the chassis!

OK, so, now I know what’s wrong, I need to come up with a way forward.

First the chassis!

Option 1:

Spend the bare minimum possible to get the beasty back on the road, even if it takes a load of work…

PartCost
Rear cross member with extensions180.98
Right bulkhead outrigger45.48
Front Dumb iron LHS151.63
Front Dumb iron RHS151.63
Rear A frame Ball joint75

Which would also need a load of extra steel, and nuts and bolts, bushes, and welding lots.

Option 2:

Using more pre-fabricated parts- but still basically a massive welding job, and a load of nuts, bolts and bushes.

PartCost
Rear 1/4 chassis372.98
Rear cross member bolt kit5.88
Right bulkhead outrigger45.48
Bumper fixing set20
Front Dumb iron LHS151.63
Front Dumb iron RHS151.63
Rear A frame Ball joint75

Option 3

The priciest choice – probably? – a brand new galv chassis. The chassis itself would be £2878.80 Plus delivery.

Then there’s all the other bits… Bushes, bolts, brackets, mountings, painting etc etc etc etc…

Option 4

That rolling chassis I saw at Beaulieu… I wonder what I could get that for? It’s allready got most of the bits on it I need to do, chassis wise… And would upgrade suspension and brakes, and save me refurbising both axles…
